Below is the memo from Gary Locke, Community Development Director announcing the plans for the Zoning Code Session #10:

Good Afternoon Everyone:
Attached is the agenda for the next meeting to discuss the Comprehensive Zoning Code update. The meeting will be next Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at 7:00 PM in Council Chambers. We will pick up the discussion with where we left off after the August meeting. We’ll see if we have any final comments on the Home Business Chapter (1119) and then continue on with Chapters 1120 (Architectural Design Review), 1121 (Design Overlay Districts), 1122 (Rooming and Boarding Houses), 1165 (Signage) and Appendix B – Sign Design Guidelines. This should take up most of the time.
For the actual Architectural Design Guidelines, I would like to reserve a meeting date in October to go over the guidelines and the additions / changes that I would like to propose for those. We discuss a meeting date at next week’s meeting to see what works best for everyone. All of the materials to be discussed at next week’s meeting were distributed prior to the August meeting so I am hoping that everyone has held on to them. If any of you need them to be re-sent, please let me know.
Lastly, I am hoping that once we get through the Design Guidelines in October, that we can get consensus to move forward with all the chapters and have them initiated as formal amendments to the zoning code. Ideally, the Planning Commission would review them in November or December and they would be referred to City Council, with Council having their public hearing on the amendments in January or February, 2011.
