I got a call yesterday announcing plans for a river clean up this coming Saturday (September 5, 2007) and I offered to pass the information along. I was told that a group from Monroe Falls will start at the Middlebury Road bridge and work downstream, while a Kent group will start at the bridge and work upstream. Here’s a great reason to jump in your canoe or kayak and help cart off any trash and litter that has worked its way into the river. Read more for the details.
Cuyahoga River Cleanup
The City of Kent is sponsoring a clean-up of the Cuyahoga River on Saturday, September 8th from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Volunteers are requested to meet near the Middlebury Road bridge area and to wear clothing appropriate for the removal of trash from the river channel and river banks. Sturdy shoes and gloves are highly recommended.
Experienced kayakers and canoeists are also encouraged to participate by transporting trash to designated collection sites. For additional information contact Bob Brown @ 330-676-7241.
