Mark your calendar for Thursday, August 11th, for the official return of America’s favorite horse drawn wagon team to downtown Kent — the Budweiser Clydesdales.
Thanks to the support of Kent’s downtown merchants (and all their beer drinking customers) the Budweiser Clydesdales have scheduled a return visit to deliver the next round the old fashioned way.
I don’t know if it’s the uniforms, the dog, the nostalgia, or the majestic horses — but it makes for a spectacular event.
The Budweiser team should be rolling into Kent around 5:30 pm which means they should have the horses and the wagon ready to go by around 6:30 pm.
The delivery parade is planned to begin at 6:30 pm in front of the Hometown Bank Plaza, and will follow this route: W. Main St., Franklin Ave., College Ave., S. Water St., E. Main St., S. Depeyster St., E. Erie St., circling back to S. Water St.
The horses will end their downtown trip back where they began, on N. Water St. at approximately 8:30pm.
The driver’s promise that stops will be made along the parade route for photo opportunities and celebratory beer deliveries.
Residents and visitors are invited to come downtown to enjoy the parade and patronize the establishments who support Anheuser-Busch, the company that has carried on a legacy of brewing America’s most popular beers for over 160 years.
