With the temperatures warming up, I had my office windows open and in addition to a refreshing breeze, I got the to enjoy the sounds of the season: birds chirping, lawnmowers running, pedestrians laughing, and construction vehicles back-up alarms.
It turns out that nothing says progress better than the sound of hammering nails and in case you haven’t noticed there’s a flurry of hammers around downtown right now.
In less than one-tenth of a mile walk from my office, here’s some images of all that construction: 1. New Avant 220 (micro-apartment complex upstairs, Pizza Fire, sushi, and bubble tea on the ground floor); 2. Dan Smith Park stage; 3. Dan Smith Park new waterfall construction; 4. New Police Station (site work contractor mobilization); and 5. Flats 345 (apartment complex).
The Police Station should open by the end of 2017 but everything else should be cutting ribbons in 2016.
